Debbie Heaton is the DCCA’s Director of Development. Prior to joining the DCCA she was Director of Philanthropy with The Nature Conservancy Delaware Chapter; Conservation Director with the Delaware Chapter of the Sierra Club; and principal with McGann Design Company where she provided advertising design, consultation and computer training for regional design firms, universities and businesses. She has taught and trained at Tyler School of Art – Temple University, Drexel University, Delaware College of Art and Design and Delaware Technical and Community College. She was an authorized QuarkXPress trainer. She has a B.S. from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an M.F.A. from Tyler School of Art – Temple University. She serves on the board of the Brandywine Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, GreenWatch Institute and on the Natural Areas Council, on the advisory committee of the Fund for Women and as a vice president for Chapter and Leader Support with the Sierra Club.
